How to Use the External Department Hierarchy View

You can display the department hierarchy in an "external view". This feature generates a public link to your organization's department structure, which can be embedded on an external site, such as a company intranet.

You can also use a rule set to filter the hierarchy, ensuring that only specific departments are visible in the external view.

Finding the external view link

You can find the dedicated link for the external view in the department hierarchy tab.

Navigate to Departments > Hierarchy.
Click the "External View" icon in the top-right corner of the page. This will open the external hierarchy view in a new browser tab.

Filtering the external view

In some cases, you may need to filter the hierarchy to hide certain departments from the external view, such as those belonging to external companies or entities.

You can control visibility by creating a specific rule set that defines exactly which departments to include.

How to configure the filter

Create a new rule set named exactly: Avdelinger som skal vises i ekstern hierarkivisning
In the rule set, define the conditions that a department must meet to be included in the external view.
Activate the rule set.

Warning: After you have configured the rule set, you must contact Identum Support to connect it to your customer settings. The filter will not be active until support has completed this final step.
