How to Manually Send Notifications
In addition to automated triggers, message templates can be sent out manually. This allows you to send notifications on-demand to specific users or groups.
You can target recipients in several ways:
Individual users
All users within a specific department
All users with a specific role
Users who match a defined Rule Set
Procedure
Navigate to Message Flows in the main menu and search for the template you want to send.
Open the template and click the Send Notification button located at the bottom of the page. 3. Select the users the notification will be about. After making your selection, click Send Notification again to confirm.
Warning: If the message flow is configured to send the notification to a manager or system administrator, the user you select here is not the final recipient. Instead, they are the object or subject that the message is about.
Example: Notifying an Administrator About New Users
In this example, we will send a notification to a system administrator for all user accounts that were created within the last seven days.
First, create a Rule Set to identify the correct users. Configure a rule where the Created attribute is After the argument Now - 7 days. 2. Go to Message Flows and find the template you want to use. For this example, we'll use "ANS1 - User is created - SMS to employee [Mobile]".
Click on the message flow to open it, and then click Send Notification.
Note: You can also use the paper airplane icon on the right side of the list as a shortcut to the sending dialog.
In the selection dialog, choose Rule Set and select the "Users created last 7 days" rule set you created earlier
Click Preview users to verify that your rule set has selected the correct users.
When you have confirmed the selection is correct, click Send Notification to complete the process.
