ARX (Access Card System)

This document details the integration of Identum's eADM platform with the ARX access card system by Assa Abloy. The integration creates, updates and deletes users in ARX based on a synchronization template in eADM.

Note: To order the ARX integration please contact sales@identum.no.

What is ARX?

ARX by Assa Abloy is a robust security system offering alarm and access control functionalities for properties. This system integrates various functions such as intruder alarms, door locks, automatic doors, and fire alarms to work cohesively. Identum's new integration with ARX automates the creation, maintenance, and crucial deactivation of user accounts when access is no longer required.

Pre-configuration Steps

Before setting up the integration, ensure the following preparations are completed:

  1. Verify ARX License: Confirm that your ARX installation has the correct license for the IMPORT function. If unsure, consult your ARX customer contact.

  2. Install Certificate on ARX Service: ARX requires a certificate to be installed on its server. Customers must follow ARX's dedicated certificate installation guide for this process: UG905342A_(ARX Skapa certifikat).pdf

  3. Configure Firewall Access: Open the firewall for inbound access to the ARX server from eADM.

    • IP Address: 51.120.80.51

    • Port: 5003

    • Protocol: TLS

  4. Provide ARX Server Details: Send Identum the following information:

    • URL to the ARX server, including the port number.

    • Username and password for a service account with appropriate access rights within your ARX system.

  5. Define User Export Scope: Determine which users from eADM will be exported to ARX.

    1. The ARX system uses several "extra_fields" that allow for significant customization of data mapping. The synchronization templates in eADM must be configured to populate these fields correctly. Please send Identum the correct field names for your organization.

  6. Choose Full Export Deletion Option: Decide whether the integration should delete all other users in ARX during a full export. If this option is selected, users not included in the export will be deleted from ARX. Generally this is not something you want to happen.
