Bulk Password Reset in eADM

eADM includes a bulk password reset function that forces all users in the organisation to reset their passwords. This function exists for emergency use only and should not be used in normal operations.

In normal operations, users should reset their own passwords through eADM's self-service password portal. This requires no administrator involvement and scales to any number of users.

See Password Management with the Password Portal for setup and usage.

Bulk password reset: emergency use only

The bulk password reset function invalidates all current passwords across the organisation simultaneously. All users are required to create a new password on their next login.

Warning: This action affects every user account in your organisation immediately and cannot be undone. It is intended exclusively for emergency scenarios such as a confirmed data breach or credential compromise. Do not use this function for routine password hygiene or as a substitute for individual resets.

When to use bulk reset

  • Confirmed or suspected data breach affecting user credentials

  • Compromise of the identity system or directory

  • Security incident requiring immediate credential invalidation across all accounts

Before you proceed

  • Notify your organisation's security team and relevant stakeholders before triggering a bulk reset

  • Ensure the self-service password portal is operational so users can reset their passwords immediately after

  • Confirm the portal URL is accessible to all affected users — see Password Management with the Password Portal

How to trigger a bulk password reset

Note: This function requires partner administrator permissions in eADM.

  1. Log in to eADM with a system administrator account.

  2. Navigate to the Customer setup tab.

  3. Locate the Accounts section.

  4. Select Restore initial password for all users.

  5. Confirm the action in the dialogue that appears.

All users will be prompted to set a new password on their next login. Users who do not have a mobile number registered in the system will not be able to use SMS verification — ensure an alternative verification method (ID-porten or similar) is available, or that helpdesk capacity is in place to assist.
