What is eHub?

This article explains what eHub is, what it enables, and who it is intended for.

Overview

eHub is Identum's web-based self-service and workflow portal that extends eADM. It allows organisations to create customisable forms and approval workflows for identity-related tasks that go beyond automatic HR-driven provisioning — such as ordering accounts for external users, temporary access requests, or other requests that require human approval before an account is created or modified.

What eHub enables

  • Custom order forms — administrators can build and publish forms that capture the information needed to provision an account or grant access rights.

  • Self-service for managers — authorised managers can submit requests directly through a dedicated form without involving the IT department.

  • Ordering accounts for external users — eHub supports provisioning for contractors, temporary staff, students, and consultants who are not present in the primary HR system.

  • Time-limited access — forms can include start and expiry dates, so that accounts and associated access rights are deactivated automatically at the end of the specified period.

  • Optional approval routing — a request can be routed to a department manager or IT department for approval before the account is created, enabling multi-step workflows where human sign-off is required.

  • Automated provisioning on submission — once a form is submitted (and approved, if applicable), eADM creates the account and sends onboarding notifications to both the requesting manager and the new user.

Who it is for

eHub is relevant for organisations that need self-service access request capabilities beyond what automatic HR synchronisation provides. It is particularly useful when accounts must be provisioned for contractors, external users, or other roles that are not managed through the primary HR system — and where a structured, auditable request process is required before access is granted.

Licensing

eHub is a separately licensed module — contact Identum to activate it for your organisation.
