KS Kunnskap

Introduction

KS Kunnskap (https://ksdigital.no/tjenestene/ks-kunnskap/) is a modern and user-friendly sharing and learning platform based on the Valamis learning platform. The platform facilitates a collective knowledge boost across the entire Norwegian municipal sector, featuring a shared course catalogue, individual overviews, and robust reporting solutions.

Synchronisation of User and Organisational Data to KS Kunnskap

This setup is a two-step process. First, user accounts for all employees must be created in KS Fiks. A turnkey integration for this is available in eADM: https://docs.identum.no/eadm/ks-fiks-forberedelser-og-oppsett

Next, the organisational structure and roles must be transferred to KS Kunnskap. Here, you have two options: SCIM2 via Entra ID or an API-based integration. You can develop the latter yourself, or utilise eADM’s integration with KS Kunnskap.

The eADM integration with KS Kunnskap automates the organisational structure and user roles. The integration synchronises departments and assigns roles in KS Kunnskap. Roles such as “Manager” and “Employee” are automatically assigned based on data from your HR system, processed through rules configured in eADM. This ensures that user access is always aligned with your organisation's structure and HR data. Roles may, of course, also be manually assigned through the wizards available in the eADM user interface.

Login and Single Sign-On (SSO)

KS Kunnskap role assignment

During the integration setup phase, we must define the business rules that govern how roles (or “stillinger” in KS kunnskap) are assigned to users. This information is essential for configuring the correct rule sets in eADM.

By default, managers will get the “Leder” role in KS Kunnskap for the departments they lead, according to the organisation structure. All others will get the “rapporter” role in all departments for which they have an active employment record.

If this default role assignment differs from how you want it in your organisation, or if you have wish to provision additional roles, let us know


eADM Integration Setup

Before the integration can be activated, there are a few steps to be completed.

Please note that the export to KS Fiks must be completed before Identum can activate the KS Kunnskap integration. See KS Fiks for details.

  1. Set up user sync to KS Kunnskap from the Fiks central user repository.
    First, you need to set up KS Kunnskap to synchronize user and organization data from an external source.

    1. Log in to Fiks Forvaltning (https://forvaltning.fiks.ks.no/) with Bank-ID and select Konfigurasjon

    2. Navigate to Tjenester → KS Kunnskap

    3. Select Innstillinger. Under Synkronisering, click Opprett konfigurasjon.

    4. In the configuration window, select the user source you created during the base KS Fiks setup.

    5. As the source for the organization structure, select the Orgstruktur API option.

    6. Save

  2. Set up API Credentials for Orgstruktur API . To utilize the Orgstruktur API you enabled in the previous step, eADM requires credentials (integration username and password).

    1. From where you left off in step 2, select Integrasjoner in the top menu.

    2. Click Opprett integrasjon.

    3. Enter a descriptive name for the integration, e.g. “Identum eADM org.struktur”

    4. Enter “994479865” as the “Autorisert organisasjonsnummer”. This is Identum’s organization number in Enhetsregisteret . By entering this information, you allow Identum to authenticate to KS Fiks using our Enterprise certificate through Maskinporten.

    5. Enter a description to record the purpose of this integration.

    6. Confirm and generate a password. Securely save the integration ID and integration password.

    7. If you are redirected to a central “Integrasjoner” page, navigate back to Tjenester → KS Kunnskap → Integrasjoner.

    8. Your newly created integration should now be available under “Tilgjengelig integrasjoner”. Click Legg til to authorize the integration to access the Orgstruktur API.

    9. The integration should now be listed under Tilknyttede integrasjoner, and the toggle for Kan oppdatere Orgstruktur i KS Kunnskap should be enabled.

  3. Share the API credentials securely with your Identum integration consultant.

    1. The integration username and password from step 2

    2. The Fiks Organisation ID, located in the upper left corner of the Fiks Forvaltning portal.

  4. Ready to launch! You have completed the setup on your end. We will finish the setup in the eADM backend, and then let you know when we are ready to deploy to production. We will not activate the sync before you give the go-ahead.

  5. Setup login. Once we have activated the sync, you must activate Single Sign-On with Entra ID for KS Kunnskap
